Here Comes the Berry

When you hear the resounding ring of wedding bells, the first visual to pop in your head is the picture of a blushing bride clothed in snowy white walking down the aisle to meet her beaming man to be. When just a little over a hundred years ago, that blushing bride would have looked more like a furry berry, in fine furs and colors of blue and red, than a white dove gracing the isle.
The tradition of the white wedding gown began in 1840 when Queen Victoria wore white to incorporate some white lace she owned on the day that she and Prince Albert tied the royal knot. Aspiring to be the queen of their own men, women began demanding white on the bridal market; and ever since, brides have been wearing white to the relief of color blind gents across America.
Who knew that the Queen of England was also the Queen of Thrift?
