My greatest wish as a child was to see Lucille Ball's hair in color. Lucille was a larger than life actress; one of those faces that didn't rely on the aid of televised color to bring her lovely features & amusing expressions to life. Her sitcom in the 1950's, I Love Lucy, could have been filmed in pitch black darkness, and her pouting lips and wide eyed look would still have been hard to miss.
In high school, I saw Lucille's flaming red hair for the first time in living color in The Lucy Show. Now when I watch reruns of The Lucy Show, my experience watching the comical actress in all her tomato red glory is that much better. Thank heavens for The Lucy Show!
